Town & Progreso

Walk to central Chelem in the morning for fresh eggs, fruit and coffee, then return in the evening for music and activities in the town square. Progreso's restaurants and shops are 8 km away; Mérida is a 30-minute drive.

The region is rich in Mayan ruins, vibrant markets and birdwatching, including flamingos and herons along the coast. Dining runs from Chelem's seafood kitchens to Progreso's restaurant row.

Getting here

Fly into Manuel Crescencio Rejón International Airport in Mérida. The homes are about 48 km away. From there it's an easy drive north to the coast, past Mérida and on to the quiet sands of Chelem.
